The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, American Hockey League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are seeking interns for the 2025 Fall Sales Program. The WBS Penguins strive to provide interns with in-depth experience by working in the fast-paced environment of sports with our team through office and game night settings. Interns will be required to have office hours (between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm) as well as Penguins home games (~5pm to 9:30pm). Schedule will be determined by the number of interns and workload.
Essential Duties:
Learn all aspects of the ticket sales process
Manage set game night operations, including pregame experiences, intermission performances, fan assistance booth, in-game giveaways, post-game events/breakdown, etc.
Assist in selling & servicing of full membership menu, group tickets, & hospitality outings
Cold-call past purchases, local businesses, organizations and identify potential prospects
Update client information in Ticketmaster Archtics and/or CRM platform as needed
Assist in the planning, development & execution of both prospecting and season ticket holder events
Research, analyze & develop new benefits, incentives, events & experiences for season members & group leaders
Additional duties as required both via Ticketing & Game Night Operations
Requirements:
Available to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and home games as scheduled based on workload
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills, be self-directed and able to follow both written and oral instructions.
Strong ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and function in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with customer service, cold-calling, & sales is a plus
Neat and professional appearance.
Must receive school credit.
Must have own transportation to assigned events.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds
