Events & Operations

Overview:
The Cotton Bowl Athletic Association seeks applicants for an internship position slated to run from September 8, 2026 to February 26, 2027. The actual start and end dates will be determined in collaboration with each successful candidate.
This internship position is a part of the CBAA Fred McClure Internship Program, named for Fred McClure who was the first Black person to serve as CBAA Chair and the first person to serve two terms as CBAA Chair (1998‐2002). General Job Functions:
• Support the day-to-day operations of the CBAA office, including, but not limited to, general administrative and clerical support, sorting and distributing mail, sending and tracking packages and deliveries, organizing supply and storage rooms, tracking inventory for mass mailings and preparing materials for meetings and events.
• Assist with the other aspects of the CBAA office and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, including, but not limited to, event management, game operations, ancillary events, ticketing, hospitality, pageantry and community service events.
• Assist, as needed, in the media operations, event management and game operations for regular-season college football games and the Big 12 Football Championship played at AT&T Stadium.
• Assist with planning and execution of various CBAA events and/or meetings.
• Assist the CBAA Hospitality staff with preparing for and hosting the two participating teams of the Classic, as well as media members.
• Develop a deep understanding of the various CBAA staff functions and responsibilities and be able to route inquiries to the appropriate individual(s).
• Assist with sorting, judging and execution of Art Contest after entries are received.
• Provide support to CBAA staff members with various projects, as needed.

Specific Job Functions:
• Serve in a diverse role working with all facets of the office and event operations – administration, game/team operations, hospitality, communications and media operations.
• Assist with digital content and communications directed at internal and external constituents.
• Assist with graphic design requests, including development, creation and editing, as needed.
• Conduct research and present recommendations to CBAA staff members for a variety of topics, as needed.
• Communicate with vendors prior to and during game week, and supervise load-in, production, and move-out for various events.
• Assist with the management and support of key constituents, such as CBAA Board of Directors and Council members, sponsors and VIPs

Qualifications:
• College degree, or currently enrolled in an academic program, in a related field. Previous experience working in a college athletics, box office, hospitality, and/or in a sports and entertainment environment is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator and Express).
• A multi-tasker with a passion for various areas of college athletics with spectacular attention to detail and strong planning and organizational skills.
• A smart, self-starter who takes initiative and is proactive with the ability to work in a fastpaced team environment and individually.
• Ability to prioritize, manage, and bring multiple projects to completion.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
• A team player with the ability to work and communicate effectively with CBAA staff members and internal and external constituents. 
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
• Must be flexible to work some nights and weekends as schedule may vary.
• Must be able to lift objects and set up for events prior to their scheduled date/time.

Supervised by: Chief Experience Officer & Chief of Staff

Compensation: This position will receive a monthly stipend of $3,000. Health benefits, housing assistance or relocation will not be provided.
