About the New York Cosmos
The New York Cosmos are a professional soccer club based at Hinchliffe Stadium (186 Maple St.) in Paterson, NJ, and part of the United Soccer League (USL). We are dedicated to delivering an exciting, memorable experience on and off the field and to inspiring our community through the world's most popular sport. We're looking for enthusiastic, driven, creative interns to gain hands-on experience in the sports industry.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Graphic Design Intern for our 2027 Spring Internship to join our Creative & Marketing team. This internship is ideal for a Graphic Design, Web Design, or Fine Arts student with an interest in visual storytelling, branding, and digital design. You'll collaborate closely with our in-house designers and marketers on real-world projects that span digital and physical applications.
What You'll Gain Experience In
- Developing graphic assets for marketing campaigns, social media, web, packaging, and events.
- Creating and maintaining brand style guides and visual identity documentation.
- Learning how design assets are applied across marketing channels and consumer-facing touchpoints.
- Participating in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and collaborative planning with the creative and marketing departments.
- Preparing mockups, presentations, and other supporting materials for internal and external use.
- Seeing how a cohesive visual identity is built, maintained, and evolved, and how creative direction, branding strategy, and production work for consumer-facing materials.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
- Must have access to Adobe Creative Suite software and personal design equipment (e.g., laptop/tablet).
- Strong visual design skills, with attention to detail, color, and layout.
- A basic understanding of branding principles and digital asset management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with web design principles, motion graphics, or UI/UX design.
- Experience using tools like Shopify, Canva, or Sketch.
- Interest in marketing, consumer trends, or brand development.
