About the Role
The New York Cosmos are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Social Media Intern for our 2027 Spring Internship to gain hands-on experience supporting the club's day-to-day social media efforts. This role offers the opportunity to learn how the Cosmos brand comes to life across digital platforms through content planning, creation, and publishing, and to develop skills in fan engagement and real-time coverage of matches, events, and community initiatives in a fast-paced sports environment.

What You'll Gain Experience In
- Publishing and scheduling content across Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Supporting the planning and execution of weekly and monthly social media content calendars.
- Writing clear, on-brand captions and short-form digital copy.
- Live content coverage during matches, training sessions, and club events to understand real-time engagement.
- Community management: monitoring comments, messages, and mentions and engaging with fans.
- Supporting campaign launches, announcements, and storytelling initiatives while learning brand voice and strategy.
- Collaborating with photographers, videographers, players, and internal staff to understand cross-functional content creation.
- Organizing and managing digital assets across shared platforms.
- Social media analytics: tracking basic performance metrics and assisting with reporting.
Content & Creative Support
- Formatting photos and videos for social platforms.
- Building carousels, stories, and short-form video content using provided assets.
- Ensuring consistency with Cosmos brand voice and visual guidelines.
- Supporting recurring content series and long-term campaigns.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of TikTok, including trends, short-form video formats, and platform-specific best practices.
- Strong understanding of major social platforms and trends.
- Clear writing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Comfortable working nights and weekends as required for matches and events.
- Passion for soccer, culture, and community engagement.
