If you answered yes, Congressional Country Club is seeking seasonal Golf Course & Grounds Interns for the 2027 golf season.
The 2027 season will be another exciting year at Congressional. Interns will help prepare the Club to host the 2027 KPMG Women's PGA Championship in June while supporting our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for members and guests.
This internship offers students practical, hands-on experience in golf course maintenance at one of the country's premier private clubs. The 2027 class will also be the first group of interns to operate from our brand-new, state-of-the-art maintenance facility, which includes exceptional intern housing.
About Congressional Country Club
Located in Bethesda, Maryland, Congressional Country Club is recognized as the #1 Platinum Club in the country and has a long history of hosting prestigious golf championships.
Over the past 15 years, Congressional has hosted:
- 2011 U.S. Open Championship
- 2014 and 2016 Quicken Loans National
- 2022 KPMG Women's PGA Championship
- 2024 Junior PGA Championship
- 2025 Senior PGA Championship
In 2027, Congressional will once again welcome the KPMG Women's PGA Championship. Through its partnership with the PGA of America, the Club will also host:
- 2029 PGA Professional Championship
- 2030 PGA Championship
- 2033 Senior PGA Championship
- 2037 Ryder Cup
What Will Be Expected of You
Interns will participate in the daily maintenance of Congressional's two golf courses-the Blue Course and the Gold Course-and work closely with the Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.
Responsibilities and learning opportunities will include:
- Assisting with daily golf course setup and maintenance
- Learning fertilizer and pesticide calibration and proper application practices
- Supporting irrigation troubleshooting and repairs
- Developing skills in disease identification and turf management
- Assisting with water management on USGA and push-up greens
- Gaining exposure to equipment maintenance operations
- Learning about clubhouse horticulture and grounds maintenance
- Helping prepare the Club for the 2027 KPMG Women's PGA Championship

Ideal Candidates Will Possess the Following
- Enrollment in-or an interest in enrolling in-an accredited two- or four-year turf management program
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to solve problems
- Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to visually inspect golf course and clubhouse grounds conditions
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- A willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team
Internship Benefits
- Flexible seasonal opportunities:
- Winter 2026–2027
- March through October 2027
- Summer 2027, from May through August
- $19.50 per hour, with overtime opportunities available
