About the Rising Professionals Program

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are interested in learning from industry-leading professionals and exploring what it means to be a part of Canada’s only Major League Baseball team. 

Selected individuals will become part of a diverse cohort with access to department-specific training, social activities and learning opportunities. Each participant will also be assigned a cross-departmental mentor from within the organization to guide them throughout the program and the unique chance to present to the Toronto Blue Jays'  Leadership Team. 

During this year-long program, candidates will gain invaluable real-world exposure to the sports industry, immersing themselves in the Toronto Blue Jays world right here at the Rogers Centre

Overview

As a member of the Merchandise and Retail team, you will have the unique opportunity to learn from a diverse group of professionals, including exposure to product development and merchandising strategy, buying and planning, retail and warehouse game day operations, and concert retail operations, allowing for significant professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support Director, Merchandise and Retail with administrative duties: including facilitating departmental meetings, maintaining homestand reporting, overseeing the execution of retail marketing, and promotional calendars
  • Support and facilitate in game request and internal merchandise request program, from initial orders to fulfillment
  • Support with the execution of location-to-location inventory consolidations and movement
  • Assist with the entry of purchase orders and SKU creation
  • Maintain visual merchandising best practices in all retail locations including and the execution of new product launches and visual initiatives
  • Support with monitoring the Jays Shop email inbox; including but not limited to, addressing general inquiries, providing support on fan escalations, arranging, and executing group orders, etc
  • Prepare game day materials including information sheets, deployment and product updates
  • Other administrative duties to support the Merchandise & Retail department


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in retail management, fashion management or business-related discipline, or a related field, or equivalent work-related experience gained in the last 3 years
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Applicants must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends and holidays as required.

Salary: The anticipated base compensation for this role is $25.00 per hour.
