The University of Connecticut is seeking qualified candidates for a paid full-time internship position in the Athletic Communications Office. The intern will serve as the primary contact for the volleyball, women’s lacrosse and track and field/cross country programs and will assist with other programs including football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree; previous media relations or collegiate sports information experience;
  • knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations;
  • excellent organizational, communication and public relations skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in website maintenance highly desired;
  • previous experience with desktop publishing software as well as Photoshop highly desired;
  • working knowledge of the NCAA Live Stats statistical software package, specifically for volleyball, basketball, football, ice hockey, and lacrosse;
  • ability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings are required.

This is an immediate opening.

Appointment Term: This position is a 12-month appointment. Following administrative review, the position may be renewed for a second term.
