Indiana State University is accepting applications for an Athletic Operations Graduate Assistant position for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities/Operations and works closely with the Athletic Facilities/Operations Manager and the Equipment Managers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Help prepare, coordinate, direct and supervise all aspects of home athletic events.
•Ensures all facility and game equipment are operational and set up appropriately (fields, goals, locker rooms, tables, chairs, bleachers, doors, housekeeping, etc.)
•Assists with general field and facility maintenance including operating machinery to prepare field and facilities.
•Greet visiting teams and officials upon arrival and navigate each to designated locker rooms.
•Assist with the hiring and scheduling of student workers and other event staff.
•Serve as a contact for facility rentals.
•Assist with the planning and execution of special events.
•Communicate effectively with coaches and departmental staff.
•Other duties as assigned by the Asst. Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations. Bachelor’s Degree (4 years)
•Enrolled in graduate program at Indiana State University
•At least 1 semester of working/volunteering in a collegiate athletic department assisting with game operations and/or field and facility preparation and maintenance.
Expected work hours included evenings and weekends and some travel. This is a 2-year assistantship beginning August 2026. The assistantship includes 18 hours of tuition and a monthly stipend of $882 gross pay (less taxes) per month for 10 months (August-May) during the academic year.
