Position Overview

Major League Cricket is seeking a passionate and hard-working Broadcast Intern to support the league’s production and broadcast operations. This role will provide hands-on experience in the execution of live sports broadcasts, working closely with MLC’s in-house team, production partners, and broadcast vendors. The ideal candidate is eager to learn the technical and operational side of sports media, and thrives in fast-paced, live event settings.
Responsibilities
Match-Day Production Support
  • Assist with setup and teardown of broadcast infrastructure at match venues
  • Support coordination between on-site crew, production vendors, and MLC staff
  • Help manage comms, credentials, and access for media/broadcast teams on match days
  • Shadow and support control room, camera, or ENG crew as needed
  • Monitor and log key moments during broadcasts for post-match archiving
Pre-Event Operations
  • Assist with the planning and logistics for each broadcast (e.g., crew schedules, equipment needs, transmission testing)
  • Prepare production documents such as run-of-show, transmission notes, and tech specs
  • Coordinate equipment shipping and inventory tracking for venue setups
Post-Event Deliverables
  • Help collect and organize video highlights, match files, and archive footage
  • Contribute to post-match reporting, clip labeling, and metadata entry
  • Support internal teams with broadcast assets for marketing and commercial use
Additional Support
  • Help coordinate digital content capture (e.g., behind-the-scenes, social-specific cuts)
  • Participate in production meetings and contribute to creative ideation
  • Assist with maintaining media libraries and cloud storage organization
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Media Production, Sports Management, or a related field
  • Strong interest in sports broadcasting, live production, and the technical side of media
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and travel during events
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with cameras, editing software, and/or live production tools is a plus
  • Strong communicator who can work effectively in high-pressure environments
  • Passion for cricket, live sports, or broadcast media is highly preferred
