POSITION OVERVIEW
Dream of calling the big moments and becoming part of a broadcast team for a pro baseball team? The Washington Wild Things are looking for a passionate energetic and driven broadcast intern for our milestone 25th season in 2027 that will be the third member of our broadcast team. The intern will help with broadcast prep and interviews, take part in pregame and postgame shows, aid in social media content efforts and media relations efforts, while getting hands-on experience bringing Wild Things baseball to life. You'll earn live broadcast opportunities during select home games, while our secondary "B-Booth" setup will allow you to get reps off the air and gain valuable experience in doing so. If you're ready to find your voice, build your portfolio and take the next step, this is the role for you. This role is different from the No. 2 broadcaster position open that is a paid seasonal position and driven toward younger college students that may be looking for a first opportunity on air but aren't yet potentially qualified for the bigger of the roles. It's meant to push someone to the next level while also being a massive part of the broadcast team.

READY TO APPLY?
Applicants must include a cover letter. Entering "N/A" in the cover letter section will disqualify an applicant, no matter the applicant's qualifications. The application asks for a cover letter, therefore it is most certainly applicable and must be made available! Please also provide a link to demo materials or a portfolio containing play-by-play examples in the application questions. We're asking that at minimum a highlight reel AND a full-inning of baseball is provided in your demo materials. Interviews or other sports are also a plus.
WHEN TO EXPECT TO HEAR?
Applicants are reviewed as submissions come in, at minimum every few days. Hiring for this summer could happen very soon or could 'drag' a bit in the effort to find the right hire. If you don't hear back immediately, there's no reason for concern. The team does its best to get some form of response back to everyone who applies. As hundreds of applications for various positions will need to be sifted through, please do not excessively follow up on your application status.
