End Date: Mid-August 2026
Compensation: College-credit-based program and  biweekly compensation by games
Duluth Huskies Internships:
Duluth Huskies Internships are designed for college students (priority to juniors and seniors) seeking real world experience, and are set to challenge, prepare you for the demands of the fast-paced, professional sports and entertainment industry, and set you apart in any career path you pursue. 
Our Internships are a hands-on, all-encompassing experience that goes far beyond the classroom—giving candidates the chance to build meaningful skills, learn both the creative planning and business sides of sports, and play an important role in creating unforgettable fan experiences. 
Candidates MUST be ready to commit to long hours at the ballpark during the entire summer, especially when the team is at home (60-80 hours/week during homestands). Applicants should not have another job and as a result, will walk away with invaluable experience, a professional network, and a summer you will never forget.
Please be aware that you will be expected to learn and help out in ALL departments no matter what position you are hired for. After all, the best, most successful Huskies Interns jump in wherever needed, bring great energy, and make every day at the ballpark better!

Position Overview:
The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club, a proud member of the Northwoods League, is seeking experienced Broadcasting Interns for the 2026 summer baseball season. The TV Broadcaster plays a key role in delivering engaging live coverage of Duluth Huskies games, serving as either a Play-by-Play Announcer or Color Commentator from the production booth on a scheduled rotation. This role requires preparation, in-game performance, and postgame responsibilities to ensure high-quality broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities:
Preseason
  • Complete league-mandated testing and hands-on training to ensure proper use of broadcast equipment and understanding of Northwoods League protocols.
  • Assist with Webcast and Stadium Set up
In Season
Pregame
  • Responsible for preparing material for in-game use, including name pronunciation, necessary statistics, and other relevant knowledge in regards to both the home and visiting teams.
  • Work closely with broadcast partner throughout the day.
  • Print 1 page (double sided) rosters of each team for fans to pick up,
  • Update Starting Lineup Board, NWL Standings Board, League Leaders Board with up to date info.
  • Participate in pregame meetings to discuss potential improvements from previous games. 
  • Participate in a communications check.
  • Conduct any interviews necessary for broadcast. 
  • Work with both directors to shoot pregame show. 
  • Check in with both directors to ensure sound is balanced and for any specific talking points they may need for supplementing shots and graphics for during the pregame show and live during the game.
Game Time
  • Deliver engaging play-by-play or commentary, follow action closely, relay statistics and team knowledge, read in-game ad copy, and respond to director cues.
  • Follow action and supply necessary statistics and other relevant knowledge for both home and visiting teams. 
  • Work closely with broadcast partners throughout the game.
  •  Actively listen to directions from the camera and/or graphics director during commercial breaks. 
  • Read in-game ad reads at correct times. 
  • Maintain high energy and keep the viewers engaged. 
  • Work with both directors to shoot live postgame show.
Postgame
  • Game recap/highlights Website write up/post,
  • Send highlight videos to Marketing Interns to use on socials
  • Shut down equipment properly and lock up.
  • Participate in review meetings for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with general post game, cleanup, including sweeping stands, cleaning, bathrooms,
  • Ensure all trash is taken out to the dumpster after all games/events.

Throughout the Season:
  • Distribute pocket schedules and corporate season tickets to businesses around the local Duluth area and surrounding communities.
  • Help generate and contribute ideas for promotions, events, and in-game enhancements that elevate the fan experience.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Interns on any new Huskies broken records, in game highlights, and any relevant information for social media platforms.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Front Office Staff To support overall operations and marketing initiatives.
  • Promote upcoming games/promotions through the broadcast and communicate any last-minute changes effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Actively pursuing a degree or career in sports broadcasting or a related field.
  • On-camera or public speaking experience.
  • Strong writing, communication, and listening skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of baseball.
  •  Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Team-player mentality and willingness to help out with various tasks across the ballpark.
