Business Analyst Intern

Department: Information Technology
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio       
Reports To: Director of Business Analytics and Data Strategy
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt 

Job Summary:
The Business Analyst intern will work with the analytics team to gather and analyze data to identify consumer trends and opportunities within our market, helping us to deliver meaningful insights. The intern will also be responsible for validating new data processes and monitoring dashboards and reports for inaccuracies.
Employees are expected to follow all Cincinnati Reds policies and procedures, serve as positive role models, and manage their workload effectively. This includes demonstrating flexibility, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and meeting departmental productivity standards
 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Market Research, Finance, or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience in analytics, research, or computer/data science intern role or higher
Skills
  • Proficient in SQL and Microsoft Tools
  • Understanding of SQL-based databases such as MySQL, BigQuery, Microsoft SQL, or equivalent
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and develop data-driven solutions
  • Knowledge of Programming Languages such as Python
  • Knowledge of Reporting Software Tools: Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Collaborative and approachable

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting Structure:This role reports directly to the Director of Business Analytics
 

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally required to sit
  • Use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear
  • Light lifting/carrying to assist with event preparation
  • May be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Willing to conduct business during non-traditional hours, utilizing games and events (including evenings and weekends) to interact with clients and prospects
