Schedule: Up to 30 hours/week | Hybrid

Position Overview

The Career Readiness Intern will support PYB’s workforce development programming for older youth. This role provides hands-on experience in career readiness, work-based learning, and youth engagement.

The intern will work directly with youth participants, families, and program partners to support professional development, track progress, and ensure successful participation in workforce programs.

Key Responsibilities

Career Readiness Programming

  • Support the planning and execution of workshops focused on career exploration, job readiness, and professional skills
  • Assist with preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and facilitating sessions

Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordination

  • Support onboarding processes for youth participants, including paperwork and compliance requirements
  • Track attendance, participation, and payroll-related data
  • Conduct regular check-ins with participants and employer partners

Youth Engagement & Support

  • Build relationships with youth participants and provide ongoing support
  • Assist with professional development opportunities and mentorship activities
  • Support communication with families and partners

Program Operations & Tracking

  • Maintain accurate records of participation and program progress
  • Support data tracking and reporting efforts
  • Assist with coordination across internal teams

Capstone Project

Examples include:

  • Designing a career readiness workshop or curriculum module
  • Improving participant tracking systems
  • Creating a youth-facing career development resource

Qualifications

  • Interest in education, youth development, workforce development, or social impact
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with youth and diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational and data tracking skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace
