Communications & Marketing Intern 

Department: Communications & Marketing
The Communications & Marketing Intern supports Indy Ignite's media operations and social content, with a heavy focus on match days. You'll help run the media entrance and press room, and capture the real-time content that brings fans inside the team.
What you'll do
Match-day communications
Prematch
  • Check in media at the credential desk using the list from the Communications Coordinator, and stay at the media entrance until 10 minutes past first serve
  • Answer questions about arena access and media best practices, especially for photographers and videographers
  • Track media attendance
  • Maintain the photographer vest list with numbers, and flag any vest not returned after the match
During the match
  • Observe photographers and videographers to make sure they follow venue and Ignite rules
  • Assist with the VIP program
  • Assist the Ignite editor in the press room.
  • Communicate press conference times and changes to coaches and players
  • Pull photos for the media folder with the Communications Coordinator and send it to the Director of Communications
Postmatch
  • Help take down the press room

Social media
  • Run live stories on match days
  • Capture behind-the-scenes content
  • Shoot and edit quick-turn content on a phone
  • Support other content as it comes up

What we're looking for
  • Current college student or recent graduate in communications, journalism, marketing, sport management or a related field
  • Can shoot and edit quickly on a phone
  • Knows trends, hooks and captions, and adapts quickly to a brand voice
  • Works well under pressure and stays organized on busy match days
  • Experience with a camera and Lightroom
  • Basic graphic design in photoshop and canva
  • Familiarity with volleyball
  • Available for evenings, weekends and all home matches

Details
  • Duration: December 1st - May 15th
  • Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours a week
    • In office Tuesday’s and Thursday’s (flexible) 
    • All 13 home games (in person)
    • All 13 away games (remote)
  • Location: Fishers area, on-site at all home matches
