Job Description
Community Engagement World Cup Festival Intern
This internship will consist of 20 - 50 hours per week, for 6 weeks
May 25, 2026 – July 22, 2026; weekends required
$18 per hour
Massachusetts Youth Soccer is seeking qualified interns to join our Community Engagement Events team. The Community Engagement World Cup Festival Intern will play a crucial role assisting the successful implementation and execution of community events related to the upcoming World Cup. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated and hard-working individual to gain experience within the sports industry.
Assigned Responsibilities Including but not limited to:
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of Massachusetts Youth Soccer’s special events World Cup Festivals and
programming.
• Assist in the planning, set-up, execution, and breakdown of community events.
• Support on-site event operations, including guest flow, materials, logistics and Mass Youth Soccer assets and
activations.
• Engage and interact with guests in a professional and welcoming manner to create a meaningful experience for
all guests.
• Must be available to work weekends, evenings and nights as program and event schedules require.
Qualifications
• Undergraduate student majoring in Sports Management, Event Management, Business Management
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a background screening (CORI)
• Must have own laptop and smart phone
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to changing situation and circumstances
• Familiarity in professional customer service and problem-solving practices
• Enthusiasm for sports in general and a basic understanding of soccer is a plus
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods on your feet while working events
• Ability to work outside for periods of time in all types of weather conditions
• Must be able to lift, carry and move items (maximum of 50 lbs.)
• Must be able to drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials – occasionally.
