Community Relations Internship & Foundation Intern

The Fredericksburg Nationals are the Class-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals.  Located in historic Fredericksburg, VA in a growing vibrant market.  The FredNats play in Virginia Credit Union Stadium which opened in 2021.  Virginia Credit Union Stadium is considered to be one of the best ballparks in all of Minor League Baseball.

Finished 2nd in Single A Attendance in 2021 and 2022

Increased attendance in every season (2021,2022,2023, 2025)

Typically sell-out in excess of 33 games per season

• Document, track, and fulfill in-kind donation requests while managing incoming community donation inquiries

• Coordinate and schedule all team mascot appearance requests

• Serve as a handler for team mascots during offsite appearances and select non-game day onsite events

• Assist with organizing guest appearances, including securing travel and lodging for celebrity guests, and managing the safe storage and return of themed costumes and equipment (ex: Ninja Turtles, Bluey, etc.)

• Represent the Fredericksburg Nationals at community events as needed, including staffing information tables and engaging with fans

• Lead scheduled stadium tours and assist with occasional unscheduled tours when needed

• Support Foundation events by helping plan logistics, tracking tasks, coordinating vendors, and assisting with ordering food, supplies, and signage

• Prepare, track, and communicate with Foundation event participants to ensure smooth execution

• Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation & Schedule: This position pays $15/hour. Work hours follow the seasonal baseball calendar and will not exceed 1,000 total hours over the duration of the internship.
