This internship program provides an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in the sports industry. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to impactful projects, and gain valuable skills to build a successful career. This internship is a part time, season long commitment which includes working match days and non-match days.
Who are we hiring?
The Kansas City Current is seeking a part time intern that has a strong passion for gaining all corporate partnership experience for a professional sports team. This position will be responsible for assisting the Corporate Partnerships team with supporting sales efforts, relationship building, data tracking, research, execution and overall management of the team’s corporate partnerships on game days. This position can expect to get a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Corporate Partnership department’s overall operations, including (but not limited to) partnerships sales, community programs, social media, special event planning, partnership activations, and all other aspects of our partners contracts. The Corporate Partnerships Intern will work within the Partnerships team and report directly to the VP, Corporate Partnerships.
What will you do?
Includes but not limited to:
- Manage and execute game day activations during all KC Current home games with fellow interns as a team
- Manage various projects of disciplines within the Corporate Partnerships Team that will positively impact the team’s strategy for current and new partners. Such disciplines could include community relations projects, social media strategies, maximizing PR efforts, etc.
- Assist the Corporate Partnerships sales process by conducting market research, utilizing partnership sales platforms (e.g., SponsorUnited, LinkedIn, etc.), and actively collaborating with the sales team through each stage of the sales cycle
- Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships Team to oversee, maintain, and track inventory assets for both existing and prospective partners
- Assist with partnership focused events throughout the season in the Kansas City community
- Capture proof of performance photos on matchday
- Provide unprecedented customer service and superior level of productivity and responsiveness
- Have a positive attitude and hardworking mentality to get the job done
- Other duties as assigned

Special requirements of the Job:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
- Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time sensitive matters with senior executives.
- Must be willing to work outside in a range of different climates.
- Ability to stand, walk, or travel up and down stairs throughout the entire event.
