Position Title: Digital Products & Technology Intern

Location: Washington, DC (hybrid, 2 days in the office per week)                         

Department: Digital Products & Technology Intern      

Reports to (supervisor): Technical Program Manager, Global Constituent Management

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hourly Range for US Based Staff: $18/hour 20 hours a week

Position Summary:

This position will be part-time at 20 hours per week through September 2025.   

This position will primarily assist with data cleansing efforts for a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. The incumbent could also have the opportunity to complete discrete tasks for the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

This position would be an entry-level opportunity for a current computer science, information technology, business, or other student. This position would also be an opportunity for individuals seeking to learn more about database maintenance and apply advanced Excel or programming knowledge regardless of educational background. Please note that this position will not include Excel or programming training. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Completing data hygiene functions to include:
    • Identifying and Correcting Errors: This includes fixing misspellings, inconsistencies, and other inaccuracies. 
    • Removing Duplicates: Eliminating redundant data entries. 
    • Handling Missing Data: Determining how to deal with incomplete information, such as filling in blanks or removing rows with missing values. 
    • Standardizing Formats: Ensuring data is consistently formatted (e.g., dates, phone numbers). 
    • Validating Data: Checking data against known rules or standards to ensure accuracy. 
  • Cleaning and mapping large data files into the CRM.
  • Making recommendations to improve data collection, such as combining redundant fields, alongside the Technical Program Manager, Global Constituent Management.
  • Potential ad hoc assignments for other Digital Products & Technology projects, such as LMS and ERP system work, depending on incumbent’s skillset and interest.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management, Association Management Software, or other contacts database or the desire to learn
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Classwork in computer science, information technology, business technology/ coding bootcamp or equivalent experience
  • High level of accountability and ability to complete assignments with autonomy
  • Ability to maintain discretion with sensitive information

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of CSS and HTML and debugging understanding
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Learning Management Systems (LMS)
