The Tulsa Drillers are seeking a full-time, seasonal Food and Beverage Assistant/Intern to assist the team in the overall F/B service operations of ONEOK field in Tulsa, OK.
The Tulsa Drillers are the Double-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and 2018 Texas League Champions playing out of ONEOK Field in the historic Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Tulsa Drillers are a proud member club of Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH). DBH was formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through best practices, professional management, innovation, and investment. The Tulsa Drillers Food and Beverage Department is very proud to be one of eight teams under DBH to have an in-house F/B operation.
We were honored to receive the Bob Freitas Organization of the Year Award for sustained excellence in the business of professional baseball at the Class AA level most recently in 2019.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Food and Beverage Assistant/Intern will need to display tremendous passion for customer service, tireless work ethic & a strong desire to grow. The Food and Beverage Assistant/Intern must possess strong management qualities. This position is integral to the overall morale of the patrons of the stadium, and these duties require maintaining a great attitude towards employees and a smile for each fan.
The Food and Beverage Assistant/Intern will be tasked with being the trusted aide to the Directors of Food and Beverage, Concessions Manager and Hospitality Manager. This position will offer experience in working and learning in all areas of the Drillers Food and Beverage Department from Concessions, Suite level, Picnics, Warehouse and everywhere in between.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to 40 staff members a given event including NPO’S (volunteers), hourly cashiers, and concession cooks
- Learn the ins and outs of staffing, scheduling, and labor costs as well as profit and loss for a food and beverage department
- Track inventory, stock product, rotate product for maximum efficiency over the course of a 120 plus event calendar
- Ensure a happy work environment to promote the overall quality of the tangibles and intangibles of the staff and fan experience
- Clean up and restock for the current gameday event and following home stand/gameday events on off weeks
- Interview and hire seasonal staff members
- Train staff in food safety and responsible alcohol procedures as well as event day operations and POS use
- Assist in community events, promotions, other events at ONEOK Field
- Brainstorm with management on menu ideas and recipe design
- Any other duties assigned by management to help in the smooth and efficient operation of Drillers F/B
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Financial management skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively manage a team with a strong focus on morale and ongoing employee education
- Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays based on the event schedule
- Works together with the Directors of Food and Beverage, Concessions Manager, Hospitality Manager and Assistant Concessions Manager to ensure proper preparation timelines, serve times, and par level standards are established and maintained to be successful
- Lead staff in all food areas in the practice of proper sanitation to comply with local health department and company standards
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience managing a food service operation
- Experience in a sports or event venue
- Point of Sale (POS) utilization of any sort
- Applicants have studied a subject in a relevant field. Concentrations in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Food and Beverage Management, and Sports Management.
Time Frame: Full-time, seasonal position from February 1st, 2026 - October 30th, 2026.
Compensation: This position falls under the parameters of the fluctuating workweek as defined below.
- $550 per week for all hours worked up to 40 hours. Your hourly rate for this position is $13.75 per hour. You will receive an additional 0.5 times (or additional “half time”) rate for each hour worked beyond 40 in the workweek as defined under the fluctuating workweek criteria in the Fair Labor Standards Act. For any weeks you work under 40 hours, we will always pay you 40 hours under the criteria.
