Danville OtterbotsInternship Summary: The Danville Baseball Club is home to one of Virginia's most exciting summer baseball brands: the Danville Otterbots (proud members of the Appalachian League powered by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball). Located in Danville, Virginia, the organization's mission is to provide unforgettable, community-driven entertainment while delivering the highest standard of fan experience. The Food & Beverage Operations Intern will oversee food and beverage operations, helping ensure every fan has a great experience at the stadium.
Internship Goals:
- Learn the day-to-day business functions of food and beverage operations at a small-market sports organization.
- Gain hands-on experience with ordering, receiving, and tracking product use and waste.
- Develop a working knowledge of concession stand procedures and cooking procedures.
- Exposure to leadership responsibilities in:
- Food & Beverage Operations
- Inventory Ordering & Tracking
- Game Day Staff Supervision
- Concession Stand Procedures
Internship Requirements:
- Full-time summer internship from Mid-May to the beginning of August.
- Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, sports management, or a related field.
- Must be able to work all events and game days.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Food handling certification a plus (or willingness to obtain one).
