Gameday Hospitality Intern

Internship Summary: The Danville Baseball Club is home to one of Virginia's most exciting summer baseball brands: the Danville Otterbots (proud members of the Appalachian League powered by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball). Located in Danville, Virginia, the organization's mission is to provide unforgettable, community-driven entertainment while delivering the highest standard of fan experience.  The Hospitality Intern will oversee groups, VIPs, sponsors, and the overall fan experience in the ballpark, along with planning and executing non-game day events.

Internship Goals:

• Learn the day-to-day business functions of hospitality and fan experience at a small-market sports organization.
• Gain hands-on experience planning, ordering, and tracking stadium decorations and themes.
• Develop a relationship-management skill set through sponsorship activation and VIP service.
• Exposure to leadership responsibilities in:
  • Group, VIP & Sponsor Experience
  • Non-Game Day Event Planning
  • Stadium Decoration & Theme Management
  • Sponsorship Activation

Internship Requirements:

• Full-time summer internship from Mid-May to the beginning of August.
• Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, sports management, or a related field.
• Must be able to work all events and game days.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
