Job Description

Under the supervision of the Deputy Athletics Director for Administration and Director of Athletics Internal Operations, the Graduate Assistant will assist with running intercollegiate games for assigned sporting events and assist with various athletic facility maintenance and special projects.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Serve as the event manager for assigned sports

Set-up and breakdown for all athletic events and special events

Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies throughout events

Coordinate operational logistics with athletic department units, coaches, visiting teams, and officials

Assist in planning and execution of all athletic events including game day operations

Assist with facility maintenance to ensure readiness for home events

Work on special projects as assigned

Other duties as assigned

Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required

Acceptance into a Longwood University graduate program preferred

Experience in athletic event operations or facilities preferred

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
