The ESU Athletics Ticketing Graduate Assistant will coordinate, implement and execute intercollegiate athletic sport events ticket operations and sales. This position reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in overseeing all ticket operations for ticketed sports: football, volleyball, soccer, women’s and men’s basketball, baseball, softball and track and field
Build season and single ticket events and manage inventory in the ticketing system
Assist in the implementation of a strategic ticketing plan, including season ticket marketing and outreach
Work to increase ticket sales, group sales, and experience packages for fans
Coordinate along side all external relations units to maximize results of marketing and ticket promotion plans
Assist in day-to-day operations of the ticket office, including answering phone calls and emails
Represent ESU Athletics at community outreach and campus events to increase awareness and promote ticket sales and events
Assist in departmental events
Manage the day-to-day operations and tasks of ticketing student workers
Assist in game day management of any post-season athletic events
Perform related duties as assigned
Adhere to all NCAA, MIAA, and Emporia State University policies
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed under multiple conditions, from a typical office environment to outdoor athletics facilities that can be in any weather. The graduate assistant will be required to work beyond the normal office hours, such as weekends, evenings, and holidays.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is required Strong interpersonal skills, high energy, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community is required Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing is required Strong organizational skills are required Understanding and working ability with Microsoft Office and a ticket system is preferred
GRADUATE ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS: The selected candidate must apply and be accepted into an Emporia State University graduate program. The Graduate Assistant will receive a tuition waiver for up to 9 credit hours per semester, a stipend, and must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in their graduate studies. The stipend amount for graduate assistantship positions for fiscal year 2027 will be $12,000 for the fall and spring semester combined. Assistantship positions for one semester (FA or SP) will have a stipend amount of $6000.
