Newberry College (NCAA D2) seeks qualified applicants for Graduate Assistant Women’s Flag Football Coach. The selected candidate will help ensure the program operates and conducts itself within the ideals, goals, rules, and regulations set forth by Newberry College, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
This position reports directly to the Head Women’s Flag Football Coach. The successful candidate shall provide leadership, organization, supervision, instruction, and strategic planning for the women's flag football program.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Recruit student athletes that fit the culture of the college and the women’s flag football program.
2.Create an atmosphere that emphasizes the student-athlete experience.
3.Construct a plan to ensure academic success and personal development of student-athletes.
4.Meet recruiting and retention goals.
5.Ensure each student-athlete has a pathway towards graduation.
6.Identify, evaluate, and recruit academically prepared student-athletes in accordance with college policy and NCAA regulations.
7.Establish an effective communication plan with student-athletes.
8.Providing individual coaching and guidance to team members, focusing on skill development and game strategy.
9.Maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere within the team, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
10.Other duties as assigned by Head Women’s Flag Football Coach.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree, and previous collegiate women's flag football competition experience is preferred, strong knowledge of skill development, rules, and strategies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and staff members, demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their full potential.
Upon employment, the candidate must successfully complete NCAA certification exam.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record (if travel is required).
