POSITION OVERVIEW:
The El Paso Chihuahuas are seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to join the organization’s Marketing Department. This internship offers hands-on experience creating engaging visual content for a professional sports organization across digital, social media, advertising, and in-stadium platforms.
The internship will begin in January and continue through the end of September.
The El Paso Chihuahuas are seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Graphic Design Intern to join the organization’s Marketing Department. This internship offers hands-on experience creating engaging visual content for a professional sports organization across digital, social media, advertising, and in-stadium platforms.
The internship will begin in January and continue through the end of September.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the creation of graphics for social media, digital advertising, email marketing, websites, print materials, in-stadium displays, and other promotional platforms.
- Develop creative assets that support ticket sales, theme nights, giveaways, community initiatives, corporate partnerships, and team branding.
- Resize and adapt designs for multiple platforms while maintaining brand consistency.
- Assist with motion graphics, video elements, and animated content.
- Collaborate with members of the Marketing, Communications, Promotions, Ticket Sales, and Corporate Partnerships departments.
- Help organize and maintain graphic files, templates, photography, and other creative assets.
- Assist with photography and videography during games, events, and community appearances, as needed.
- Work El Paso Chihuahuas home games and special events.
- Complete other creative and marketing projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current college student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in graphic design, animation, visual communications, digital media, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to accept feedback.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Photography and videography experience is a plus.
- Interest in sports, entertainment, or event marketing is preferred.
- A portfolio or examples of previous design work are required.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
- Internship runs from January 5, 2027, through the end of September.
- Interns will receive a $750 monthly stipend.
- Gameday work will be compensated at $10 per hour.
- Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and El Paso Chihuahuas home games and special events.
This is a full-time internship that requires in-office availability from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on non-gamedays and from 9:00 a.m. until one hour after the game on gamedays. It begins in February 2027 and extends through the end of the Chihuahuas season (mid to late September). We offer a $750 monthly stipend for living expenses, along with $10 per hour for scheduled gameday work.
