Join the Midland RockHounds grounds crew for a hands-on internship in professional baseball field
operations. From February 1 through September 30, 2027, you will help maintain the playing surface,
prepare the field for games and events, and develop practical sports turf management skills.
What you will do
• Maintain the mound, home plate area, infield skin, and warning track.
• Operate equipment for mowing, aeration, topdressing, fertilization, and other turfgrass practices.
• Assist with irrigation maintenance, tarp pulls, and special projects.
• Set up and break down batting practice and other stadium events.
• Complete the RockHounds Grounds Crew Beginner and Advanced Training Programs.
• Build experience with planning, budgeting, scheduling, and time management.
Qualifications
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and interested in a career in sports turf management.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn each day.
• Enrollment in a turf program or completion of a two- or four-year degree preferred.
• Previous ballfield experience preferred, but not required.
• Internship dates: February 1–September 30, 2027.
