Relocation Information:

  • Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the Graduate Associate (Please note that while we have a hybrid work model, this does require you to live and work out of the Orlando, Florida area.)
  • Reliable transportation is also needed

Working Hours:

  • Office Hours - M-F, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Based on role determines in office and remote working by the manager
  • Most Associates work all game nights (44 home games + playoffs and finals) including weekends and holidays

A quick summary about the role:

The Arena Experience & Operations G.A. with a focus in Hospitality will focus on assisting in all Magic game day and non-game day logistics and event-based duties that pertain to the Kia Center.

What the role will do:

  • Track Magic and non‑Magic events across a series of internal and external calendars, applying exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper alignment of information for each calendar’s specific purpose.
  • Create detailed event layouts in AutoCAD based on specifications provided by internal and external clients.
  • Assist Arena Experience and Operations with non-game day event preparations, including detailed walkthroughs.
  • Assist Arena Experience and Operations with game day preparations, including detailed walkthroughs of both Magic exclusive spaces and Kia Center arena floor and concourses.
  • Coordinate the Event Information Directory for non-game day events, thoroughly reviewing event‑specific details and distributing accurate information to all relevant parties.
  • Manage the Event Information Directory for Magic games by conducting thorough reviews of all event‑specific information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and proper formatting.

 

What the role needs to have:

  • Post Grad (recent college graduates within 24 months of graduation) or graduate-level college students required.
  • Related education and/or experience in event hospitality, venue operations, sports management, gameday/event operations, event coordination preferred."
  • Event Management experience preferred.
  • Customer experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer skills required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and support multiple high level executive positions.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
