Internship Program Overview:
The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.
Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

The 49ers Foundation harnesses football to educate and empower Bay Area youth through a collective of innovative and community-focused strategies. From award-winning STEAM education and nationally recognized youth football programs, to impactful community partnerships with leading non-profits, we are tirelessly dedicated to inspiring the confidence and collaboration our youth need to tackle what is possible.
We are looking for teammates to help us grow the Foundation’s impact in the Bay Area. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions by processing and recording transactions in accounts receivable and accounts payable, generating tax acknowledgement letters to donors and preparing supporting financial analysis reports as needed. This position will be assigned special event and game day accounting duties. The position requires superior organization skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and the ability to take initiative with little direction. The ideal candidate will have a team-oriented “can do” attitude, experience working with general ledgers and accounting data entry, especially fundraising auctions, accounts receivable and payable, and possess a proven track-record of delivering high caliber work-product in an efficient and timely manner.
