Internship Program Overview:

The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.

Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

General Internship details and expectations:

  • Our interns are paid $19.00 per hour and are expected to work 30-40 hours or more per week during the internship period. 
  • Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship and be mostly onsite (no remote internships are available), which runs from mid-July through the end of February. 
  • Interns are expected to work flexible hours that include nights, holidays, and weekends. 
  • Interns to provide their own housing and transportation

  • Monday, January 5, 2026 - Applications close

  • Friday, February 26, 2027 - Last day of the internship program

The San Francisco 49ers have an exciting opportunity to join the Business Strategy & Analytics team as a Business Analytics Intern for the 2026 season. This internship is uniquely positioned to play a critical role in the strategic development and execution of our Business Intelligence and CRM systems. The individual in this role will have the opportunity to interact with various departments in the company, including sales and marketing, and gain experience in different facets of the business operations of a professional sports team.

The Business Strategy & Analytics (BSA) department has a direct hand in developing strategy for almost all departments of the 49ers business, including ticket sales & membership service, corporate partnerships, digital & email marketing, retail, concessions, and stadium operations. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Supports day-to-day administration tasks of CRM system and Data Warehouse, including platform integrations, lead distribution, workflows, data visualizations, and reporting.
  • Develops target audiences for email marketing campaigns and supports additional marketing operations initiatives. 
  • Support post-event survey analysis to assess outcomes and drive actionable insights for future events.
  • Supports team in gathering business requirements for our data warehouse and automated solutions.
  • Assists in the validation and QA of new sources of data and supports additional projects.
  • Provide assistance in Partnerships CRM tasks around asset management and deal reviews
  • Conducts research and creates presentation materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Abilities & Skills:

  • Professionalism in all interactions with fans, corporate partners, fellow 49ers staff members and 49ers players, alumni, executives, and coaches.
  • Punctuality and accountability are essential for all aspects of intern’s role.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task are required.
  • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to interact comfortably with people in all walks of life is necessary.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with proven ability to learn new skills. 
  • Team player, willing to contribute to ad hoc projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce) a plus
  • Experience with SQL or other database languages a plus
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau) a plus
  • Experience with Google Slides a plus
