Internship Program Overview:

The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.

Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

 General Internship details and expectations:

  • Our interns are paid $19.00 per hour and are expected to work 30-40 hours or more per week during the internship period. 
  • Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship and be mostly onsite (no remote internships are available), which runs from mid-July through the end of February. 
  • Interns are expected to work flexible hours that include nights, holidays, and weekends. 
  • Interns to provide their own housing and transportation

Important dates: 

  • Monday, January 5, 2026 - Applications close 
  • Monday, July 6, 2026 - First day of the internship program
  • Friday, February 26, 2027 - Last day of the internship program

Position Overview:

Seeking a hard-working and dedicated candidate to fulfill a full-time, season-long internship within the 49ers Corporate Partnerships department. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Partnership Marketing Team and will have exposure and responsibilities tied to the Partnership Sales Team. This individual will also assist with account management and will have their own dedicated partner projects to manage. Overall, this role will consist of a diverse array of responsibilities (fulfilling partnership assets, assisting in planning partner events, managing partnership inventory, etc.), providing this individual with a comprehensive and well-rounded experience in the Corporate Partnerships department.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assists Partnership Marketing Team with multiple large-scale partner accounts by sitting in on weekly meetings with partner contacts and helping with asset management and fulfillment
  • Assists the Partnership Marketing Team with inventory management by participating in internal Marketing and Operations meetings to ensure assets such as LEDs, social media, etc. are received
  • Supports the Partnership Marketing Team with the preparation, production, and data collection for end-of-season partner recaps by managing photos and screen grabs of partners digital and social content throughout the season.
  • Assists with tracking and organizing merchandise and autographed memorabilia inventory
  • Supports Corporate Partner Gameday Assistants by assisting with schedules and serving as main point of contact on game days.
  • Assists with partner activation and fulfillment as needed on game days, as well as during other Levi’s® Stadium events.
  • Supports in planning and executing partnership events (Training Camp, holiday party, etc.)
  • Supports the Sales Team by gathering research for potential prospects & assisting with sales proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Abilities & Skills:

  • Professionalism in all interactions with 49ers players, coaches, executives, fans, corporate partners, fellow 49ers staff members and alumni.
  • Punctuality and accountability are essential for all aspects of the role.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task are required.
  • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to interact comfortably with people in all walks of life is necessary. 

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word.
  • Basic knowledge of photography and editing photos is preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.

Travel:

25% of local travel time expected for the position.
