Internship Program Overview:
The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.
Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

The San Francisco 49ers are looking for a driven, team-oriented creative with a passion for storytelling and elevating one of the NFL’s most iconic franchises. As a Creative Video Production Intern, you will support our in house video production team in crafting best-in-class videos across all platforms.
Working under the direction of the 49ers Studios team, you’ll collaborate with producers, editors, social team, and other marketing staff. You should be adaptable, eager to learn, and committed to developing your craft inside a fast-paced creative environment.
The ideal candidate lives and breathes sports - especially football. You’re energized by the intersection of sports culture, filmmaking, design, and innovative digital storytelling. You’re excited to help capture the emotion, intensity, and personality of the 49ers and translate it into content that resonates with the Faithful.
What You Will Experience:
As a Creative Video Production Intern for the San Francisco 49ers, you’ll play a hands-on role in producing high-impact content that supports both the football and business objectives across the organization.
You’ll contribute to real projects that ladder up to our broader content strategy - including practice coverage, player features, social edits, gameday storytelling, community events, and other branded content. Guided by our producers and editors, you’ll help bring creative concepts to life from pre-production through delivery, gaining experience at every stage of the workflow.
You’ll support our video production team with tasks such as camera operation, lighting, audio, motion graphics integration, media management, and assisting on shoots. You’ll also contribute to rough cuts, creative research, trend exploration, and content development that strengthens our brand voice across platforms.
Throughout your internship, you’ll be expected to stay current with trends in sports media, digital video formats, cinematography, TikTok/Reels storytelling, emerging technology, and NFL culture - and bring ideas that push our work forward.
You’ll be joining a championship-standard environment that values innovation, collaboration, preparation, and excellence - on and off the field. An interest in football and the NFL is strongly preferred.
Contribute to the planning, filming, and editing of high-quality video content for the 49ers, with a strong emphasis on short-form social storytelling. Support the creation of content around gamedays, practices, workouts, community events, media availability, partnered assets, and football operations.
Work closely with content, social, integrated marketing, design, and studio teams to align production with broader creative goals. Bring forward new ideas that highlight the 49ers brand voice, culture, and players across all platforms.
Research emerging trends in sports media, cinematic techniques, editing formats, and digital innovation to ensure content remains cutting-edge. Assist with evaluating content performance and applying insights to future creative decisions.
Education and Experience:
Applicants must provide a reel or portfolio of relevant work as part of their application.
Final-round candidates will be asked to complete a practical editing exercise as part of the interview process.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position requires the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.
Travel:
25% of local travel time expected for this position.
This role does not typically travel with the team to road games/events but may include travel pending availability.
