Internship Program Overview:
The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.
Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

General Internship details and expectations:
- Our interns are paid $19.00 per hour and are expected to work 30-40 hours or more per week during the internship period.
- Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship and be mostly onsite (no remote internships are available), which runs from mid-July through the end of February.
- Interns are expected to work flexible hours that include nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Interns to provide their own housing and transportation

Position Overview:
To provide a hard-working, dedicated candidate with an internship opportunity to experience the work environment of the Football Communication department during a full season. Upon completion of the internship, it is our hope that the knowledge gained is one that provides great value and experience that will support future career endeavors in the sports industry.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assists the Communications Department in day-to-day operational tasks.
- Prepares and distributes daily morning and mid-day clips to members of the organization.
- Records and transcribes all coach/player/personnel press conferences and distribute as assigned.
- Assists with all NFL and 49ers publications, including but not limited to the Media Guide, Weekly Release, Yearbook and Game Day Magazine.
- Prepares and updates all player biographies on a weekly basis.
- Proactively researches statistical information related to the team as well as individual players.
- Distributes information/packets for broadcast crews weekly.
- Assists with updating and maintaining the 49ers media website.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Professionalism in all interactions with 49ers players, coaches, executives, fans, corporate partners, fellow 49ers staff members and alumni.
- Punctuality and accountability are essential for all aspects of intern role.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task are required.
- Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to interact comfortably with people in all walks of life is necessary.
Education and Experience:
- Relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of InDesign and proficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding and knowledge of football statistics, social media platforms and analytics tools.
- Collegiate or professional sports team experience preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Travel:
25% of local travel time expected for the position.
