Intern, Influencer Marketing and Flag Football

Internship Program Overview:

The San Francisco 49ers offer full-time, paid internships for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in professional sports while exploring careers within the National Football League. Our program is designed to allows participants to contribute directly to the organization’s success while applying the knowledge learned in the classroom.

Interns are embedded within a specific department while also having opportunities to explore the broader organization through group networking events, training sessions, and one-on-one meetings with leaders across the club. Each intern is supported by a mentor and team and contributes to a project that builds skills and professional confidence.

General Internship details and expectations:

• Our interns are paid $19.00 per hour and are expected to work 30-40 hours or more per week during the internship period. 
• Interns are expected to commit to the full term of the internship and be mostly onsite (no remote internships are available), which runs from mid-July through the end of February. 
• Interns are expected to work flexible hours that include nights, holidays, and weekends. 
• Interns to provide their own housing and transportation

Important dates: 

• Monday, January 5, 2026 - Applications close 
• Monday, July 6, 2026 - First day of the internship program
• Friday, February 26, 2027 - Last day of the internship program

The 49ers Influencer Marketing and Flag Football Intern will help drive brand awareness, engagement, and positive sentiment. This position will help to shape marketing strategy with an emphasis on influencer marketing efforts and Flag Football.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Proactively learns about sports marketing industry by seeking information, assisting basic market research, and monitoring industry trends/best practices and benchmarking for our influencer and flag football efforts
• Supports the 49ers Flag Football and Influencer teams with administrative and event operational support.
•  Identifies Influencers, develops influencer content ideas, assists with communication, updates and manages the influencer CRM, and coordinates efforts and alignment between domestic and international teams.
• Assists with Influencer hosting on game days and at events and manages gift sends.
• Assists with tracking and reporting digital analytics on a daily/weekly basis.
• Assists the Flag Football team with marketing event promotional support, registration and reporting, and event operations.
• Assists with post-performance recaps and presentations, takes notes in meetings, sorts and manages files, organizes documents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

·         Relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including 49ers home games and events.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
• Proficient with social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Youtube, etc.)
• Has played Flag Football or is knowledgeable regarding the sport.

The employee will be sitting in a typical office environment the majority of the time and may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.

Travel:

25% of local travel time expected for the position.
