The Hudson Valley Renegades, High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, deliver top-tier baseball and community-focused events at Heritage Financial Park. With a history of developing Major League talent and celebrating local heroes, the Renegades are a vital part of the Hudson Valley region. The Hudson Valley Renegades are a proud member club of Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH). DBH was formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through best practices, professional management, innovation, and investment.

Essential Functions:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Merchandise Intern to provide support to our management team and to provide excellent customer service to our guests. This is an educational internship. You will receive hands-on training in managing a sports-industry retail operation. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
You will receive training and experience in the following areas:
- Ordering merchandise and managing product needs
- Performing administrative duties, including hiring, scheduling and managing staff timecards
- Partnering with the Marketing Team to supporting online retail initiatives
- Learning and applying leadership skills related to staff management and day-to-day retail operations
- Training on POS systems (sales, returns, exchanges), online shop platforms, shipping processes and inventory maintenance
- Using our inventory software, processing purchase orders, entering invoices, and receiving product
- Assisting with marketing efforts in partnership with management
- Gaining a full understanding of the stockroom, product assortment, and preparing reports for accounting
- Greeting, assisting, and cashing out customers during both game days and non-gamedays
- Develop a social presence for Merchandise Department initiatives
- Performing additional retail department duties as assigned following proper training
Qualifications:
- Graduate May/December 2025 with a degree in sports management, marketing, communications, event management or related field. Should you be graduating in May of 2026 this role requires you to be onsite by March 2026.
- Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Working all home games and events to ensure exceptional customer service
- Experience with graphic design preferred (Adobe Photoshop, Canva or similar)
- Sales, merchandising, Shopify POS, OpSuite POS system, and customer service experience is a plus
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
- Some heavy lifting is required
General Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 lbs up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for up to 5+ hours during a game
- Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to rain and heat
