Internship Administrative Services (Accounting/Financial Planning & Analysis)

Position Summary: The NCAA Administrative Services (Accounting and FP&A) intern is primarily responsible for assisting with daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and financial planning tasks. The intern supports NCAA accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical initiatives while collaborating with various internal departments.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, with entry-level experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
• Strong written, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience or interest in business intelligence, analytics, or financial modeling.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with journal entry preparation and uploads.
• Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes including invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes including allocations, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, assist with account variance analysis and documentation, and review financial statements for unusual trends.
• Assist in preparing audit materials and tax filings such as Form 990, Benefit Plan Financials, etc.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes including data preparation and analysis.
• Contribute to financial modeling for championship events and operations.
• Prepare budget-to-actual analysis and monthly financial reporting summaries.
• Assist with NCAA revenue distributions and insurance/travel analysis as needed.
• Participate in NCAA professional development and learning opportunities.
