General position summary: This intern supports the communications team in creating and distributing digital and visual content that advances NCAA messaging, storytelling and brand initiatives. The intern will assist with social media, video, photography and multimedia content across NCAA platforms and events.
Responsibilities
Digital Content
- Create content for social media and digital platforms.
- Produce photography, video and graphics.
- Support digital storytelling initiatives.
Social Media
- Assist with day to day social media management.
- Develop content for campaigns and NCAA events.
- Optimize content across digital channels.
Creative Production
- Edit multimedia assets.
- Maintain brand quality and consistency.
- Collaborate on communications and creative projects.
Essential duties:
- Create digital and multimedia content for NCAA platforms and initiatives.
- Assist with day-to-day management of NCAA social media platforms.
- Produce and edit video, photography and graphics.
- Support digital storytelling for NCAA events and championships.
- Create visual content that communicates NCAA initiatives and priorities.
- Assist with digital campaigns, webinars and communications projects.
- Edit and optimize content for multiple digital platforms.
- Track projects using organization-wide project management software.
- Compile information and research to support communications efforts.
- Review materials for accuracy, quality and brand consistency.
- Support collaboration across communications and national office teams.
- Participate in departmental assignments and team projects.
Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience in communications, digital media or content creation.
- Experience creating content for social and digital platforms.
- Understanding of social media strategy and audience engagement.
- Experience with video production and editing.
- Experience with photography and photo editing.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of brand management and visual communication.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Asana and Sprout Social.
- Knowledge of higher education and collegiate athletics.
- Professionalism, adaptability and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
