General position summary: NCAA leadership development educates and empowers student-athletes, coaches and athletics administrators through transformative experiences that develop effective leaders, cultivate an inclusive community and enhance the college sports landscape. Our interns play a meaningful role in shaping these experiences. You’ll contribute to program design, event execution, digital learning and unit-wide initiatives that directly impact the NCAA membership. Former interns have launched careers in student?athlete development, academic advising, career development and athletics administration.
Responsibilities
Program Development
- Assist with curriculum, schedules and speaker coordination.
- Support onsite program delivery.
- Coordinate learner engagement and event logistics.
Project Leadership
- Support Leadership Development initiatives.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects.
- Assist Division II and III diversity grant initiatives.
- Manage participant communications.
Digital Learning
- Develop online learning materials.
- Create presentations and learning resources.
- Support the Learning Management System.
- Evaluate learner feedback for continuous improvement.
Essential duties:
Program support and event execution
- Assist with planning and developing program schedules, curriculum, activities and speaker coordination.
- Support on?site program operations, including logistics, learner engagement and session facilitation.
- Serve as a point of contact for speakers, consultants and learners.
- Manage daily schedules and operational flow during events.
- Assist with the management of project teams.
Project leadership and collaboration
- Lead and support internal and external projects that advance unit priorities.
- Serve on a cross?functional team and contribute to collaborative initiatives.
- Manage inquiries from speakers, learners and resource providers.
- Support Division II and III diversity grant initiatives.
- Alumni database maintenance and annual report contributions
One position would also have the following duties:
– The intern will gain experience in planning, developing and implementing various initiatives and programs offered by the unit that directly serves the membership audiences.
Assist the director with administration of the Postgraduate Internship Program, including:
- Planning, leading and communicating Talent and Culture meetings.
- Planning and executing the PGIP interviews for the following year cohort.
- Social event planning.
- Administering the mentorship program.
- Monitoring internship inbox.
– Actively participate in the program development process, assisting with the program schedule and curriculum creation, speaker communication, event flow and logistics.
On-site execution of program responsibilities, including:
- Managing the working schedule that details daily responsibilities of each staff member during a program.
- Assisting with the operational and logistical needs of the event.
- Facilitating activities, panels and group discussions.
- Managing speaker and participant communication during event dates.
- Supporting program administrator, speakers and consultants as needed during program sessions.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with facilitation, public speaking or leading group activities.
- Experience with creative or multimedia software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva).
- Experience working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Experience in student leadership, athletics or campus engagement.
- Basic knowledge of the NCAA leadership development programs.
