Brooks Internship Program:
Brooks Running hosts summer internships at our Seattle HQ offices to provide hands-on, meaningful work experience to further enhance your education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real work, and projects while working side by side with Brooks employees and leadership. If chosen for this role, you will join a cohort of interns at Brooks and embark on a summer of learning, professional development, and exposure to the Brooks brand and culture.  


Details:
Duration: 3 months Dates: Start dates will align for both quarter and semester students. May/June - August/September 2026
Location: Seattle, HQ Schedule: 40 hours / week


This Opportunity:
The Footwear Team is seeking a Lifestyle Footwear Merchandising intern to work at our Seattle HQ offices. This position will work closely with the Lifestyle Footwear team, which is responsible for building and expanding the new business line. The team also works closely with Marketing and Sales across regions. You will gain exposure to product creation by working alongside Footwear teams to plan, build, and deliver product.  

Your Impact (Responsibilities):

  • Receive mentorship from Footwear Merchandising, Development, and Design partners to understand their roles and impact to the broader department and/or business. 
  • Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments. 
  • DevelopMerchandising and PLM skills needed for career in the Sport Product Industry. 
  • Learn directly from experienced coworkers, managers, and leaders with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous professional fields. 
  • Build connections with a network of professional, managers, and leaders. 
  • Provide analytical support to inform leadership decision-making on projects related to Lifestyle Footwear. 
  • Create and update relevant SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for designated projects or processes.  
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and other group meetings. 
  • Interact with various business partners that span across Brooks and present the results of your project at the end of your internship. 

Project:

  • As a part of your experience as an intern at Brooks, you will have the opportunity to complete a project under the support and supervision of your mentor/manager. Details of your project will be finalized once you arrive at Brooks based on your interests, and the needs of the business. You will present your work and findings to leadership at Brooks, to hone-in-on your research, analysis, and recommendations, and to refine your presentations skills. 


A high-level project outline for this internship opportunity is as follows: 

  • Product Sample & Seeding Process Optimization 
  • Objective: Map the current sample flow (PR, sales, wear-test) and propose process improvements to reduce delays and costs. 
  • Business Impact: Improves operational efficiency and ensures timely sample delivery for marketing and sales initiatives. 
  • Deliverables: 
  • Process flow documentation 
  • Improvement plan with timelines and stakeholder alignment 
  • Consumer Segmentation Deep Dive 
  • Objective: Analyze consumer data to refine Lifestyle target personas and identify gaps in the current product offering (style, color, price point) 
  • Business Impact: Enhances merchandising decisions for upcoming seasons and informs product narratives to better connect with key consumer segments. 
  • Deliverables: 
  • Segmentation report with actionable insights 
  • Recommendations for product and USP alignment 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business/Marketing, Industrial/ProductDesign, Merchandising or a related field 
  • Passion for Lifestyle Footwear and Fashion space; knowledge of product and retailers in competitive space 
  • Willing to commit to the intern position for three months onsite in Seattle, WA 
  • Willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience 
  • Able to commit up to 40 hours a week to be physically present at HQ 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Experience with Flex PLM a plus 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products 
  • Must be able to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
