Playmakers Nashville Summer Internship Program

Organization Overview

Playmakers Nashville is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to elevating women working in or interested in pursuing careers in the sports industry across Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Through professional development programming, networking opportunities, and intentional community-building, Playmakers Nashville supports women at every stage of their career journey while strengthening the future of the sports industry.

Our internship program offers students hands-on experience within a growing nonprofit while providing meaningful exposure to the sports industry, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement.

Operations & Programs Intern

Duration: 11 weeks (May 24th – August 7th 2026)

Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week

Location: Nashville, Tennessee (hybrid remote/in-person opportunities available)

Compensation: Unpaid internship, structured to meet requirements for college credit (1–3 credit hours) and provide career-building experience.

Selected candidates will be notified by May 1, 2026. 

Position Summary

The Operations & Programs Intern will support Playmakers Nashville's internal infrastructure and programming efforts. This role will focus on event coordination, member engagement, and operational organization that helps the organization run efficiently and deliver high-quality experiences.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Support

  • Assist with maintaining the membership database and member contact records
  • Support internal organizational systems, documentation, and workflow processes
  • Assist with board meeting preparation, including compiling materials, organizing agendas, and supporting follow-up tasks
  • Help track event planning timelines and logistics across committees and initiatives

Event & Program Coordination

  • Assist with planning and executing Playmakers events and professional development programming
  • Assist with event logistics such as venue coordination, registration tracking, and volunteer coordination
  • Help gather event feedback and evaluation data

Philanthropy & Special Projects

  • Support planning and coordination of Playmakers Nashville’s philanthropy initiatives
  • Assist in developing and executing Q3 and Q4 philanthropy events
  • Help research nonprofit partners, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement initiatives
  • Work alongside leadership to bring philanthropic programming from concept to execution

Community Engagement

  • Research partnership opportunities with Nashville sports organizations and businesses
  • Assist with promoting partnerships and community collaborations
  • Support volunteer coordination and member engagement initiatives

Qualifications Required

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Social media familiarity and basic digital marketing knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Passion for women's empowerment and the sports industry

Preferred

  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Interest in nonprofit operations and event planning
  • Experience with spreadsheets, Google Workspace, or CRM systems
  • Interest in the sports industry and women’s leadership

By the end of this internship, you will have:
