Operations Intern – Cleveland Open & Squash in the Land (2027)

Company Overview:
Topnotch Management (TNM) is a boutique sports management agency representing some of the world's top tennis and pickleball players. Its Event Division, Topnotch Events, manages and hosts professional tennis and squash tournaments throughout the United States, including the Cleveland Open and Squash in the Land.
Topnotch Events is looking for a motivated and hardworking Operations Intern to assist with two professional sporting events taking place in the Cleveland area during the winter of 2027. This position offers hands-on experience in sports management, event operations, volunteer management, hospitality, and player relations.
Event Information:
Squash in the Land – January 12–17, 2027
  • Professional squash tournament on the PSA Squash Tour
  • Features internationally ranked professional squash players
  • Held at University Hospitals Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute in Cleveland, Ohio
Cleveland Open – January 31 – February 7, 2027
  • ATP Challenger Tour professional men's tennis tournament
  • Held at the Cleveland Racquet Club in Pepper Pike, Ohio
  • Features professional tennis players competing for over $110,000 in prize money
The internship will involve working on-site at both tournaments and assisting the event operations team with daily tournament needs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with tournament setup, breakdown, and daily event operations
  • Support volunteer management, including scheduling, check-in, and daily coordination
  • Assist with hospitality, VIP experiences, and guest services
  • Support player relations, transportation, and player services
  • Help coordinate event logistics, signage, equipment, and supplies
  • Work alongside tournament staff to assist with additional operational needs as they arise
Qualifications
  • Interest in sports management, event planning, or hospitality
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist wherever needed
  • Available to work on-site during tournament weeks, including evenings and weekends

Location: Cleveland, Ohio (multiple tournament venues)

Start Date: January 2027 – TBD
End Date: February 28, 2027
Schedule: Flexible leading up to the events, with on-site availability required during tournament weeks.
