Position will be responsible for photography at sporting events. Will use photos from their own as well as other photographers to create graphic design content for multiple teams in the athletics department which will be used across various platforms including but not limited to social media, MercerBears.com, video boards, presentations, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Helps develop and implement strategic plans applicable to digital content intended to promote the Mercer Athletics brand, sports programs, and student-athletes.
  • Creates compelling photo gr aphy and gra phics content for multiple platforms, from short-form social media and video board content to features for  website and similar platforms.
  • Shoots photography  at practices, home games, select road games, and community/ special events  to generate content.
  • Collaborates with external operations colleagues and those across departmental units (e.g., communications, fan e xperience ,  sports teams ) to develop ideas, plans, and content calendars that will ensure department  objectives  are met.
  • Develops static graphics for social media and in-game video board use.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of innovative social media strategies for marketing and recruiting.
  • Assists  in the planning and execution of studio shots in all sports.
  • Monitors best practices and trends in organic and branded creative video and graphic design content.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s  degree in a related field, and  previous  experience in the field of creative video  

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Previous  experience in a creative video role for a college athletic department or professional sports organization  

All successful applicants must meet the admission requirements for Mercer’s Graduate School and will be awarded a monthly stipend and housing/utilities, plus tuition, books and fees.
