ABOUT US
The Staten Island FerryHawks are dedicated to creating a vibrant, fan-first experience on and off the field. Competing in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an MLB Partner League, we play our home games at SIUH Community Park on the St. George waterfront, combining competitive professional baseball with year-round community entertainment. Our internship program gives students hands-on, educational experience alongside and under the supervision of the staff who run a professional sports organization, in their chosen area of study.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Production Intern gains an inside look at how a professional team produces its game-day entertainment. Under staff supervision, the intern learns how live events, staging, audio, and video come together, hands-on event-production experience that is hard to find elsewhere.
GAME-DAY COMMITMENT
This internship requires being present at designated home games. Home game dates and times are listed on the current schedule, available as a PDF on the FerryHawks website (ferryhawks.com). Call time is typically 2.5 hours before first pitch and can run longer depending on the game day. Interns must be available for designated home games, including July 4th.
WHAT THE INTERN WILL EXPERIENCE AND LEARN
Under the supervision of the staff member they report to, and as part of their training, the intern will gain hands-on experience with and exposure to the following. Staff lead the work; interns learn by observing and assisting.
  • Learn how event equipment, staging, audio, video, and lighting are set up and run.
  • See how pre-game, in-game, and post-game entertainment is coordinated.
  • Gain exposure to how a live show is planned and executed with performers and staff.
  • Observe how technical issues are solved during a live event.
  • Experience the full game-presentation workflow from setup to breakdown.

ELIGIBILITY

COMPENSATION & ACADEMIC CREDIT

This is an unpaid internship, offered for academic credit only, in conjunction with the student's school and in accordance with that school's requirements for earning credit. It is an educational training experience, not employment. The intern is not an employee for minimum wage or overtime purposes, is not guaranteed a job at the end of the internship, is free to pursue other opportunities in the field, and receives no employee benefits. The student arranges credit through their college or university, and the FerryHawks coordinate with the school and provide the documentation and supervisor sign-off the school requires.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
