PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SUMMIT

July 13-17, 2026

The LASEC Professional Development Program (PDP) Summit helps prepare students for a successful career in the sports industry. Accepted students will start to cultivate the critical job training and communication skills needed to get hired and thrive in this highly competitive business.

LASEC is committed to providing college students with opportunities and tools that will help them kickstart their career in the sports industry. With our exceptional lineup of major events coming to Los Angeles over the next few years, we want to amplify our community impact, and this program is just one of the ways we plan on achieving that.

Thirteen years ago, we began offering the LASEC Professional Development Program Summit (PDP Summit) to upper division college/graduate students interested in pursuing a career in sports.  Applications are now being accepted for this free, week-long intensive summit, that gives students the opportunity to learn about jobs in the sports industry in Los Angeles. Accepted students will start to cultivate the critical job skills needed to get hired and thrive in this highly competitive industry.

The LASEC PDP Summit includes:

  • Professional Development Training – Students will receive assistance with resume writing, interview skills, and will receive feedback from industry leaders on interview and presentation skills. Students will develop a business plan to help position themselves for a job after graduation.
  • Sports Business Executive Panels – Students will hear from various sports executives about the different jobs that are available in the sports business, such as public relations and marketing, event / venue management, operations, sponsorship / ticket sales and other roles.
  • Formal Mentor Program – Participants will be assigned a mentor for six months. Mentors work for various sports organizations in Los Angeles.
