This role will start 7/13/26 and run through 6/25/27.

A quick summary about the Graduate Associate role:

The GA - Project Management will work to support the Sr. Project Manager in the execution of project management duties across projects initiated by the Orlando Magic and its affiliate companies.

This role will provide assistance with project planning, project execution, project closeout, stakeholder management, internal and external communication, risk management and administrative tasks.

What the Graduate Associate will be responsible for:

  • Assist the Sr. Project Manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing projects by performing tasks to include but not be limited to creating and updating project timelines, tracking progress, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders, all while gaining hands-on experience in Orlando Magic project management practices.
  • Accurately record and communicate project status updates to the Sr. Project Manager and members of the project team.
  • Communicate with internal and external parties to ensure project critical tasks and deadlines are being attained.
  • Assimilate and or provide needed assets for project related meetings and updates.
  • As directed by Sr. Project Manager, assist Director of Arena Experience & Operations with various projects and tasks.
  • Project Planning:
    • Assist in developing project scope and deliverables. 
    • Create project timelines and work breakdown structures. 
    • Help with resource allocation.
    • Assist with walkthroughs and coordination of vendor security clearances.
  • Project Execution:
    • Monitor project progress against the plan and identify deviations. 
    • Track tasks and update project management tools. 
    • Participate in team meetings and communication.
  • Project Closeout:
    • Assist with project closeout activities, ensuring all deliverables are met.
    • Support coordination and documentation of lessons learned. 
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate project updates to stakeholders through regular reports. 
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns. 
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. 
    • Monitor risks and escalate issues to Sr. Project Manager. 
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Maintain project documentation and files. 
    • Prepare presentations and reports for project reviews. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

What the Graduate Associate needs to have:

  • Post Grad (recent college graduates within 24 months of graduation) or graduate-level college students required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) required
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana)
  • Previous experience in IT support, game day operations, or sports technology is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer skills required.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and support multiple high level executive positions.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.

Relocation Information:

  • Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the Graduate Associate (Please note that while we have a hybrid work model, this does require you to live and work out of the Orlando, Florida area.)
  • Reliable transportation is also needed

 Working Hours:

  • M-F, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • Comfortable working in a remote office setting (home and office)
  • Most Associates work all game nights (44 home games + postseason) including weekends and holidays
