Spring 2027 Promotions & Fan Experience Internship
Full-Time Internship | January–May 2027 | Unpaid / College Credit
The High Point Rockers are seeking an energetic, motivated, and dependable student to join our team as a Promotions & Fan Experience Intern for the Spring 2027 semester. This is a full-time, unpaid internship designed for students seeking hands-on experience in sports marketing, game-day entertainment, event production, and fan engagement.
The intern will work closely with the Promotions & Fan Experience Coordinator and the Rockers' front office team. The position will generally follow a Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, with additional hours required for Rockers games, special events, community events, and other team activities as assigned.
This is an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in the professional sports industry while being directly involved in the planning and execution of the Rockers' fan experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Promotions & Fan Experience Coordinator with planning and executing game-day entertainment.
- Help prepare scripts, timing sheets, PA reads, promotional materials, and other game-day documents.
- Assist with promotional theme nights, on-field contests, fan engagement activities, and special events.
- Coordinate contestants, giveaways, mascot appearances, first pitches, ceremonies, and other in-game elements.
- Work with the production team to execute the in-game entertainment experience.
- Assist with sponsor activations and ensure promotional elements are executed properly.
- Help coordinate and manage game-day interns and volunteers as assigned.
- Assist with community appearances, marketing events, and other off-site team events.
- Brainstorm and implement creative ideas to improve the overall fan experience.
- Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown when needed.
- Serve as a positive representative of the High Point Rockers and provide excellent customer service to fans, partners, and guests.
- Assist with additional promotions, fan experience, marketing, and event responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university and eligible to receive internship credit.
- Pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced sports and entertainment environment.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Positive, professional attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- Passion for sports, entertainment, events, and creating memorable fan experiences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Must be available to work a full-time 9:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday.
- Must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, Rockers home games, community events, and other events as assigned.
