Job Description Summary
Sporting Kansas City’s Safety and Security Intern holds a temporary position within the company, with an emphasis on educational training and gathering practical experience in their field of specialization for a professional sports organization. The Intern will gain valuable experience working with the Safety and Security team, collaborating in an environment full of learning opportunities designed to help all interns evolve their capabilities, challenge their strengths, and reach their fullest potential.
The Safety and Security Intern assists the Sporting Park security team, gaining valuable experience and knowledge while assisting in day to day and game day functions.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Become familiar with Safety and Security policies and procedures for stadium events.
- Assist with the implementation of programming and initiatives to educate staff and fans on the Safety and Security policies and procedures.
- Document in-event medical, security, and facility occurrences in the stadium on event days through various reporting systems including the ISS 24/7 Incident Management System.
- Assist with the distribution of credentials and parking passes.
- Deliver post-event summaries of all incidents and identify trends that should be addressed to create a safer environment for all staff and patrons in Sporting Park.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Hospitality, Sales, Business, Marketing, Communication or other related field required, with the ability to receive college credit.
- Minimum of 20 office hours per week (including nights and weekends).
- Must be available for all/most Sporting Park major events (i.e Sporting KC home matches, concerts, etc.).
- Must be competent in computer skills.
- Ability to interact with players, staff, security, and law enforcement in a professional manner.
