Overview
USA Softball is seeking a detail-oriented Softball Analytics Intern for 2026 with strong knowledge of high-level softball and hands-on experience using Synergy Sports Technologies. This internship will focus on full-game video capture and logging of Japanese League (JD League) softball games using the Synergy Team Logger platform.
USA Softball is seeking a detail-oriented Softball Analytics Intern for 2026 with strong knowledge of high-level softball and hands-on experience using Synergy Sports Technologies. This internship will focus on full-game video capture and logging of Japanese League (JD League) softball games using the Synergy Team Logger platform.
This role is ideal for someone interested in performance analysis, analytics, and international softball who is comfortable working independently and managing long-form game projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Log 50–100 full Japanese League softball games from start to finish using the Synergy Team Logger platform
- Screen capture full games prior to logging
- Locate official team lineups on the provided JD League website
- Translate lineups from Japanese to English (using tools such as ChatGPT, Google Translate, etc.)
- Complete full game setup within Synergy, including team, lineup, and metadata entry
- Accurately tag plays and pitch types throughout each game
- Add new players to the Synergy platform when necessary
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency across all logged games
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of high-level softball, including pitching mechanics and pitch types
- Prior experience using Synergy Sports Technologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow tagging standards
- Comfortable working independently for extended periods (games average 2–3 hours, with logging requiring a similar amount of time)
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet logging expectations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with video analysis or performance analytics
- Familiarity with international or professional softball leagues
- Background in coaching, playing, or analyzing softball at a collegiate or elite level
Training & Support
- Training and assistance with the Synergy Team Logger platform will be provided
- Applicants must already possess a base knowledge of both softball and Synergy Sports to be successful in this role
