What’s This Internship All About? As the Sports Marketing Intern, you will be working directly with our talented and knowledgeable team assisting with day to day league operations and marketing. Training will include invaluable experience in all aspects of marketing such as grassroot, event, third party and digital. The internship will also include basic training in operations and finance as well as other knowledge. Upon completion of the internship, it is our hope that the knowledge learned is one that provides great value and expertise towards future career endeavors in the sports or marketing industry, including the opportunity to be permanently hired from this position.

Job DescriptionINTERNSHIP PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing

• Help execute social media marketing campaigns and strategies through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Meetup, and more
• Contribute to the collection and post-production of photo and video content from league play
• Develop content for social media and blog with a heavy emphasis on content marketing
• Assist with email marketing design, strategies, and execution.
• Execute digital sponsorship activations
• Design and implement on-field marketing as well as tabling at community events.
• Strategize, develop and coordinate local grassroots marketing opportunities
• Collaborate with the local market to curate new and innovative marketing initiatives
• Sales calls to team captains to inform them of upcoming events and registration deadlines

Operational

• Assist with league audits & evaluations
• Provide facility and field maintenance as needed; suggest venue improvements
• Increase brand awareness and registration numbers through community events and marketing
• Inventory and upkeep of sports equipment and shirts
• Assist with data entry, game reports, customer service inquiries and scheduling

Qualifications

• Works well in a team atmosphere, and requires low supervision/direction
• Currently enrolled in college and able to receive class credit
• Punctual and professional, but embraces a "work hard, play hard" attitude
• Self-reliant and eager to take on any task - no matter how big or small
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Self-directed leader who takes initiative and a solutions-oriented approach to problem solving; demonstrates a willingness to learn and improve

Ideal candidate:

• Experience working with social media, email marketing, and content development
• Graphic design experience
• Self-starter, well-spoken, outgoing
• Detail-oriented, ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• A passion for sports and community
