Overview
The Kansas City Diamonds are seeking a highly motivated and organized Spring 2027 Merchandising Intern to join our team from January - May. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports retail, inventory management, and fan engagement within a professional sports organization. The intern will play a key role in supporting our merchandise operations, enhancing the fan shopping experience, and contributing to the team's brand presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, tagging, and organizing merchandise.
- Support the setup and breakdown of merchandise displays at games, events, and the team store.
- Help process sales transactions and provide excellent customer service to fans.
- Assist with online store operations, including order fulfillment and product updates.
- Support promotional activities for new product launches and sales events.
- Assist in tracking merchandise sales data and preparing reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure merchandise aligns with team branding and events.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing).
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A strong interest in sports retail, product development, and customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends for events, as needed.

Compensation
This is an unpaid internship, offering valuable hands-on experience and professional development within the sports industry. College credit may be available depending on your institution's requirements.
