Overview
The Kansas City Diamonds are seeking a dedicated and organized Spring 2027 Softball Operations Intern to join our team from January - May. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the day-to-day operational support, logistical coordination, and administrative functions within a professional sports organization. The intern will play a key role in supporting player and team needs, contributing to smooth operations, and ensuring a positive experience for our athletes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with player travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and ground transportation.
- Coordinate player housing logistics and support their relocation needs.
- Develop and distribute detailed travel itineraries and logistical plans for players and staff.
- Provide administrative support for the Softball Operations department, including data entry, record keeping, and managing schedules.
- Assist with game day and practice operations, including equipment setup, field preparation support, and general logistical needs.
- Support communications efforts, similar to a Sports Information Director, by assisting with statistics tracking, media relations support, and compiling team information.
- Help manage inventory of team equipment and supplies.
- Facilitate communication between players, coaching staff, and other departments as needed.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives within Softball Operations.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Sports Management, Business Administration, Communications, Hospitality).
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A strong interest in professional sports operations and player support.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required by team schedule and events.

This is an unpaid internship, offering valuable hands-on experience and professional development within the sports industry. College credit may be available depending on your institution's requirements.
